Posted: 23 Sep 2008 Hi everyone,  I'm new to herpetology and wondering what I might see in my home area (Silloth-on-Solway) in Cumbria. I would also like to help out with field studies and related tasks. Any advice would be most welcome

Posted: 23 Sep 2008 hi don't know the area i'm afraid but try here http://www.randacumbria.moonfruit.com/ this is the website of another forum member, dan, who does his herping in cumbria. i'm sure he won't mind me pointing you in his direction. i don't think he's found many fellow enthusiasts up there though so i don't know how many other responses you'll get. good luck tim |

Posted: 24 Sep 2008 God Silloth brings back memories. My Dad used to have a couple of trips a year there sea fishing with a few mates in the 1960s. Pictures of them sat on a sea wall. We lived in the Lakes at the time - plenty of adders and grassies and slow worms and common lizards. Suz |
